John Currid

In 2006, John Currid shipped aboard a laker for its passage from Montreal to Lake Erie. His purpose was to discover and then, through photographic acts of aesthetic justice, to interpret for others an important but largely invisible lifeline that helps sustain the Great Lakes region of North America. In the result, Currid’s discovery is “Lakers,” a kingdom of steel, water, glass, and sky where revelatory beauty draws power from ideas distilled into existential form.
