Winnipeg, once a great city, now reflects its own pale image. Apartment blocks erected by new immigrants in the first half of the 20th century still proliferate the city, landmarks of a vanished, forward-looking time. Their signs, bearing enthusiastic fonts, gaily drawn images and the names of long gone wives and children, remind us of the Winnipeg's sunny past. "Brightview" honours the optimism of these signs. Z'r0 ushers them into the 21st century via four contemporary visual interpretations by William Eakin, Cliff Eyland, Craig Love and Leala Hewak.
