The Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival is now accepting Featured Exhibition proposals for the 2012 edition of the festival. The call is open to all photo-based practices and to shows of any subject matter. Individual or group exhibitions will be selected to showcase the most dynamic range of artists and highest caliber of exhibitions throughout the greater Toronto area in May.

CONTACT’s Featured Exhibitions are a prominent component of the annual festival that attracts widespread local, national and international interest from the public and the press. These exhibitions are positioned within the forefront of the festival’s program including the CONTACT magazine, website, and promotional materials.

CONTACT’s Featured Exhibition’s are an initiative that stimulates the further development of programming for the festival through creative partnerships and community collaborations. Exhibitions planned for the month of May with secured venues are a standard prerequisite, whether in conventional galleries or alternative spaces. Proposals without venues will also be considered and efforts will be made to assist selected exhibitions in securing an appropriate venue.

Submissions must include:

1. Exhibition Proposal: a concise one-page summary of the exhibition concept and content. Please include exhibition dates, venue name, address, telephone, email, and venue contact person;
2. Up to 15 digital files on CD (J-pegs maximum 1 MB each);
3. Corresponding list describing dimensions of work, media, title and year of production;
4. C.V. or other biographical information for each artist participating in the exhibition;
5. Correspondence details for inquiries (if different from venue): name, address, telephone, email;
6. Self-addressed stamped envelope (S.A.S.E.) for return of submission. Submissions provided without a S.A.S.E will not be returned.

NOTE: All exhibitions must be registered on our website prior to submitting.
