Carril Bici

For over 50 years, Cuba has been an icon of resourcefulness, maintaining a predominantly modern lifestyle without modern industry. This exhibition looks at the relationship between the Cuban people and the bicycle. From commuters to Olympic cyclists, these do-it-yourself riders and mechanics maintain the machines through the alteration of existing tools, foundries, and innovative mechanics. The cycling community is one small example of how Cuba finds itself a world leader in sustainability.
