The photo series Kith & Kin, part of a larger body of work called Aide-Memoire: Through My Eyes, creates a photographic narrative through looking at interpersonal relationships within the black community. The project is the visual expression of exploration, and subsequent discovery of self-identity.

Self-identity–to know yourself–may seem obvious, but subtle differences in shades of skin or textures of hair are often the cause of many deep-rooted questions about self and community that go much deeper than what meets the eye.
