Photography is a shared hobby between the artist and her grandfather. Throughout her adolescence, she was the subject of my grandfather’s photography and as a result became interested in taking photos of her own. Shot with the vintage Canon AE-1 he passed down to her, Luong’s grandfather is now the protagonist of her photography.

This series of three captures his daily life, serving as memorabilia of the times they shared together in their backyard. With the medium of black-and-white film photography, Luong mimics the work of her grandfather’s era to connect two generations of photographers.
