Get your creativity flowing! Gallery 44’s Low Res course returns to its full, in-person format. Over eight six-hour sessions, participants will collectively work through experimental group activities to hone and sharply define the intention and delivery of their creative voices through photography.

The key focus of this program will be developing your advanced visual literacy, redefining the way you approach photography. Participants will have group discussions, critiques, creative experiments, writing exercises, field trips and more. This year the course will be co-lead by artists Darren Rigo and Zinnia Naqvi on an alternating schedule.

Low Res is a great opportunity for emerging artists to push the boundaries of their practice and build understanding and connections in the Toronto art community with a small supportive group of peers.

Course Includes:
Eight 6-hour classes with Zinnia and Darren
An exhibition of participant work in the G44 Production Gallery (Summer 2022)
Gallery 44 membership (for non-members)
Free studio/camera/lighting rentals at Gallery 44
An intimate class size of 10 participants

Registrants should have a minimum of one year of experience working with photography and have developed conceptually driven work. They should be committed to advancing their practice and visual literacy through collaboration. If you want to know if Low Res is a good fit for you, get in touch with the instructor Darren ([email protected]).
