Homage to The Brown Sisters

Brenda Cooke

The inspiration for these photographs intially came from caring for my own child while being a full time student. The difficulty in balancing a family and having meaniful work has always been a struggle for me. These photographs attempt to capture the balancing act of five single parents. The photographer/juggler/parent hopes that all the balls are caught. The act is delicate, difficult, and intricate. And as this exhibition reveals, not always successful.
