Remnants of Industry

May 19–June 24, 2006
Open Studio Print Sales Gallery
401 Richmond St. West, Suite 104

The effects of urban development are explored
through photography and printmaking. Steven Dixon’s
photogravures document abandoned industrial sites, signifying
technology’s precedence over the need for natural resources.
In Steven White's lithographs, he juxtaposes both current
and obsolete technology, examining society’s “thirst for the
new”. David Trautrimas’ screenprints distort, construct and
incorporate objects from the urban landscape, questioning their
traditional use and their importance in society. Artists
featured in Print Room: Karen Curry, Louise Vezina, Nick Shick.
