Award-winning South African photojournalist, Neo
Ntsoma, presents three series - Saris in the Sand,
Their Lives in Flames and African Stories – that
focus on women’s work and struggles.

Ntsoma boasts a string of awards including: 2004
CNN African Journalist Award for Photography
(first female recipient), TIME magazine “Picture of
the Week”, 2005 Premier Winner in South Africa’s
top Newspaper Awards, 2005 National
Geographic Award, five-time winner of the Fuji
African Press Award.

Ntsoma, one of a few Black female photographers
practicing in South Africa, works for one of the
largest dailies, The Star. Her work has appeared
internationally in The London Telegraph, TIME
Magazine and The Washington Post. She recently
co-edited “Women by Women” a book on 50 years
of women’s photography in South Africa.
