Haiti has the grim distinction of being the
poorest country in the western hemisphere and the
nation with the highest maternal mortality rate.
Amid severe political and social instability, MSF
(Médecins Sans Frontières) offers emergency
obstetric care to pregnant women living in the
slums of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Following
alongside MSF teams, Rémy chronicles new and
future mothers struggling to survive sexual
assault, gun battles, poverty and the trauma of
the surrounding violence on a daily basis.
