The genre of documentary photography has experienced a quiet revolution in the past three decades, one that continues as we navigate the digital age. Propagated by a new wave of documentarians who challenge longstanding traditions in photography and notions of documentary itself, is the Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Media program at Ryerson University. Bringing together documentarians from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, the program is home to students producing works that find their roots in fine art, photojournalism, anthropology and experimental media.
