In today’s accellerated pace of living, we make impressions upon the spaces around us in ways far more intrusive than ever before. Sidelong reflects a fascination with the remnants people leave behind – of themselves,of their collective identity as a community – to create “accidental art”. Stone photographs these inadvertent configurations resulting from worn/scraped/layered advertisements on newspaper stands and other urban surfaces, to evoke the history and legacy of Abstract Expressionism.
