Alternative Process Photography Symposium (A.P.P.S.)

In his keynote address, Sam Wang will offer insights into the revival of alternative process photography, as well as novel methods of integrating alternative processes into ones digital photography practice, helping artists best assert their unique creative voice. Wang is an accomplished photographer and retired Distinguished Professor of Art from Clemson University. He is an expert practitioner of photography, incorporating processes such as: pinhole, zoneplate, cyanotype, tricolor gum, platinum/palladium, casein, argyrotype, in addition to camera building and alterations.

A.P.P.S. is a week-long series of events for photographers and enthusiasts to learn alternative photographic processes, revitalizing the analogue methods from the last 150 years. From May 8 – 13, world-renowned experts will address diverse methods of working in photography through lectures, workshops, and exhibitions at various venues.
