Grand Bruit

Johan Hallberg-Campbell

Hallberg-Campbell documents the resettlement of residents moving away from Grand Bruit, Newfoundland, during the last few days of this coastal community. With financial support from the government, residents began preparing to move in June 2010, leaving for new homes across Canada. Their hearts are heavy; an aging population whose children have left. The fairy-tale village now sits deserted: no roads in or out; the lights are off and the last ferry has left.
