Situated in the MOCCA courtyard, Korean artist Jihyun Jung, in conversation with Joanne Junga Yang, Director of Y&G Art, Seoul, will discuss his site-specific project Demolition Site.
Jihyun Jung was born in 1983 in Seoul, Korea. He received a B.F.A in photography at the Seoul Institute of the Arts (2005), an additional B.F.A at Chung-ang University, Department of Photography, Gyeonggi-do, Seoul (2010) and an M.F.A at Chung-ang University, Department of Photography, Seoul, Korea (2012). Solo exhibitions of his work have been held in Korea at the SongEun ArtCube (2013), the Total Museum Project space, Seoul (2014), amd KT&G Sangsangmadang (2014) as part of a fellowship that resulted in the publication of his first book, Demolition Site. Jung's work has been included in numerous group exhibitions including the Breda International Photo Festival in the Netherlands (2012), the European Month of Photography, Berlin, Germany (2012), and the Lianzhou International Photo Festival, Guangdoong, China (2013), and the Doosan Gallery, New York (2014). He was a recipient of the Top Four Portfolio Review Award at the 2014 Daegu Photo Biennale in Korea.
