Public Studio, Our Occupations a Breath of Wind
2016 Artist Talk

Art Gallery of York University
4700 Keele St, Accolade East Building

PUBLIC STUDIO (Elle Flanders + Tamira Sawatzky) discuss their current AGYU exhibition, What We Lose in Metrics, drawing upon the diverse influences that informed its component parts— from video gaming to Bioplan planting and the newly written Canadian version of the Rights of Nature—while situating its themes and operative principles in the context of this year’s Theorizing Violence conference theme: “Confronting the Violence of Capital.”

Presented in conjunction with the Theorizing Violence conference organized by Critical Scholarship and Social Transformation, a new research institute at York University.

*Please note that Diane Beresford-Kroeger, originally planned to do the talk with PUBLIC STUDIO, cannot make the event.
