2018 Open Exhibition

Ryan Pechnick
refuse/reuse

May 5–June 2, 2018
Abbozzo Gallery
401 Richmond St W, Ste 128

Pechnick explores the Leslie Street Spit in Toronto, a site where man-made and natural materials clash and mix with the forces of weather, waves, and dump trucks. The haphazard piles of refuse are like the prime matter in alchemy. Pechnick uses the camera as a spiritual tool to focus on projecting his sense of order onto reality and creates images of these transcendental moments. This exhibition includes sculpture and sound.
