Altered Perspectives

Altered Perspectives represents the newest work in Macris ongoing investigation of the transforming landscape of North American culture. In the tradition of Hiroshi Sugimoto, the quality and contrast of the black-and-white photograph is used to represent decaying industrial landscapes. Through photographing abandoned factories, refineries, aircraft bone yards, and rugged expanses altered by their occupants, Macris work represents the transformation of North America as it endures economic strife and societal shifts.
