CONTACT is very pleased to present a community project funded by the CONTACT Cabinet of Donors in partnership with Shoot With This.

Shoot With This is an innovative attempt to empower at-risk youth by giving them the resources and support to learn about photography and video-making from inspiring individuals whose experiences are not dissimilar from their own.

Youth participating in the program include “at-risk” males and females age 15 – 18 who live in Toronto's Jane and Finch corridor.

The project began with a spring 2012 trip to High Park to photograph the spectacular cherry blossoms in bloom. Each student was provided with a camera and asked to capture the magic that surrounded us all that beautiful evening. The images that resulted from the project can be seen on four Pattison billboards at the intersection of Jane and Finch during the month of May.

The students are: Aaron Defreitas, Jamyrah Dixon, Sean Kanhai, Curtis McCleary, and Tennelle Russell.
